1 THE COURIER -JOURNAL, LOUISVILLE, KY. WEDNESDAY MORNING, MARCH 18, 1959 7 Ex-Louisville Musician, Oreste Natiello, Dies Oreste G. Natiello, a Louisville musician 40 years ago, died at 10:04 p.m. Monday at was 77. He played the violin and band conducted by his brother, to 1922.
Oreste had to give up his musical career after he lost his right arm in the Knickerbocker Theater disaster in Washington, The first night the Natiello band played at the Washington theater in January, 1922, the roof, weighted with snow, collapsed. His brother Ernesto was of the 98 persons killed. Benefit Held for Him Oreste returned Louisville in 1924. He was broke. The Courier Journal and The LouisTimes sponsored a benefit for him at Macauley's Theater.
More than 2.000 attended. There were 22 acts, some from New York. late Paul Plaschke, cartoonist for the Newspapers and a close friend of the Natiello brothers, leader in organizing the benefit. During their musical career the brothers were seen in every orchestra pit in town and at Fontaine Ferry and the State Fair. Oreste stayed in Louisville till 1933 when he went to Philadelphia to live with a sister, Mrs.
Frances Forte. She lives in Springfield, Pa. Son Lost on Mission In 1943, Oreste's son, George Natiello, won presidential unit citations while flying 52 missions for. the Air Force 1 in the Pacific. His plane crashed on his 53d mission and he never was heard from.
In 1947 Oreste returned to Louisville on a visit and decided to stay. A year later he married Miss Antoinette Paetz, at his home, 2325 Bolling. He French horn in a Louisville Ernesto Natiello, from 1909 who survives him. Other survivors besides his elsterare two nieces and two One of the nephews, Ernest Forte, plays in the United States Navy band. The funeral will be at 2 p.m.

M.S.D, board member Ray. mond Bossmeyer, who requested meeting, said it was postponed because he and another board member, William Dabney, were unable to attend. He said the conference probably will be held March 30. 43d, was killed at 10 a.m. yesterday, when an automobile off jacks while he was working under it. Alford suffered a crushed chest, according to Deputy Coroner Lister Witherspoon.
